I'm sorry but you want to hear Foo Fighters, and not RHCP? They are both very meh for me, but Foo Fighter is beyond worse.
That being said, I like bands like Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend and Modest Mouse. I don't know if that says anything about my taste in music. - BatFan88
No dude, I hate HATE HATE the Foo Fighters. Jeez, thats pretty insulting that anyone could think I actually like the Foo Fighers - the Billy Ray Cyrus of Rock and Roll.
Even though the stats say that Bernier and Andersen are about equal, the Leafs see something in him or in their analytics that suggests he's the ideal goalie for Babcock's team/system?
What about the Canadian and Oilers... maybe they see something in Weber and Larsson...
What about every trade... I thing it's the base of a lot of trades... the other team see something else.. right or wrong.
In french but... it say that Josi was a bad partner for Weber... Maybe the Habs think that with another partner Weber will be better. It say that advanced stats show that Josi struggle when playing without Weber.

You seem to have great taste my man. - James_Tanner

I agree. There is a fine line here:
1) You must question everything. Everything.
2) Assuming just because someone has a good job or is a professional that they are infallible is pretty stupid.
3) On the other hand, sometimes professionals really do know things that we don't.
4) Having an iron clad opinion about something is usually never the right move.
But in what light does PK Subban for Weber make any sense? Anyone who defends this so far has looked pretty dumb to me. It could be a genius move, but I am 99% sure it was a terrible move by a guy who should be fired.
So basically nothing is for sure and there is always a reason to do or think the opposite of what you are doing or thinking. Almost like the only smart thing you can do is be open minded, listen and try to be as informed as possible. Oh, and always always always be willing to change your mind.
I just saw the list of bands you posted and decided to post a couple of the videos
(It's a slow Sunday... ) - lumlums
Hey, like what you like, but if you like those bands and also legitimately like music, I'd be more than willing to offer you a list of newer bands that don't suck.

I listened to them back in my teen years in the 90s, but not at all now. My tastes cover almost every genre (though country - especially anything less than 20 years old - and most rap would be a no-go for me). Suggestions for new bands are always welcome

I been really liking Kurt Vile lately, also War on Drugs, and the National for straight ahead rock music.
Can't say enough good things about Crystal Castles though I am guessing most people would hate it a lot.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of Cage the Elephent (for reasons that remind me of why I hate the Foo Fighters) "Telescope" is to my mind one of the best songs of the last few years.

Good read James, although you didn't throw Jim Benning under the bus once in this blog, thus I find it hard to debate with you today.
I skip over, don't read, the music bullets, as I'm not a music listener...maybe you can cut back one bullet point there and discuss the "knucklehead" GM's of the league?

I'll check them out
I've not heard a lot from Crystal Castles, but I've enjoyed most of what I have heard. They remind me somewhat of folks like MSTRKRFT which I can always get behind.
